Order Up : Guatemalan Champurrada and fig filled Empanadas lightly dusted with powder sugar & sesame seeds
My grandmother would make Champurrada’s early in the morning when I was a kid. You’d wake up to the smell of warm cookies and all you could think of was a small cup of coffee and some butter on the back of them. So yummy. I’ve had the champurrada’s from Guatemala but because they are mass produced they lose out on quality of handmade goodness. They always seemed to be over crisp or not texturally tantalizing. Meaning they where not crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
What ever cookie recipe is your family tradition, make sure to place the love of your heart into each stroke of the dough. Let the experience that you give to them through your baked goods warms there hearts and don’t forget to serve it with a big glass of milk or cup of coffee.
After the meal is finished and your appetite is satisfied, it’s time to say a short prayer to thank God. Thank you God for giving me the strength to pursue my dreams. In my moments of weakness keep my mind in prayer to help me step forward with your plan for my life, and bless my family and friends that they may find peace when stress overwhelms them.
Have a great day!
