There is not much to making the rice…if you have the correct cookware and rice. If your wondering where to purchase these items. Usually your local Thai market or if you live in an area that does not have a Thai store they go on Amazon(make sure to get the bamboo top lid for the steamer!)


Oh and a nice big bag of Thai Glutinous Rice. I’ve been asked before. “Can I use Jasmin rice?” No you can not use uncle ben, jasmin or any other variety. This rice is sweet and sticky hence the dishes name.


Once your ready to make the rice you will need to soak the rice(2 cups), and bamboo bowl and top in water for an hour before using. In the bottom aluminum bowl only put 2-3 inches of water. The trick to cooking the rice evenly is to only cook the rice for 13 minutes on one side, then flip and cook the other side for 10 minutes.

Plate the rice drizzle some coconut milk, sesame seeds, and slice your mango for a delicious afternoon treat.

After the meal is finished and your appetite is satisfied, it’s time to say a short prayer to thank God. Thank you God for giving me the wisdom to silence my tongue when the words I want to speak are not fitting to the situation.
